President
Aila Adams
Hello delegates! My name is Aila Adams, a sophomore from Nanjing International School. It is an honor to serve as the President of the SOCHUM committee at WLMUN XIX. I would like to remind everyone, don’t be afraid to be yourself and share your thoughts, this committee is a safe space where everyone is supportive. I strongly encourage everyone to trust in their ideas, acknowledge that there is no singular approach to finding a solution. Take this opportunity to grow and develop your skills. I look forward to meeting everyone at the conference!

Deputy-President
Enhao Ren
Esteemed delegates, student officers, directors, and guests,
My name is Enhao Ren, an 8th grader from Nanjing International School. It is my honor to serve as the deputy president and expert chair on the topic of “Promoting Global Access to Education for Refugees and Displaced Persons” for the SOCHUM committee of WLMUN XIX. I joined MUN when I was in 6th grade and have participated in three conferences as a delegate, receiving the Best Delegate award in all three in the Human Rights Council and ECOSOC; this will be my first time chairing. My research and debate interests have included a broad range of topics, ranging from protection of migrant workers and welfare of citizens during political unrest to incorporating disadvantaged peoples in the economy and providing education to rural and marginalized communities, all of which connect to the topics in SOCHUM. I hope that over the course of this conference, all of you—whether you’re a seasoned delegate or a new participant trying out MUN for the first time—can extend your knowledge of MUN, polish your debating skills, and have fun at the same time. I encourage everyone to share their voice and express their ideas, both in and outside the committee room. Please feel free to reach out to me at enhaoren@nanjing-school.com if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to a fruitful debate!
