President
Hyunseo Ji

Esteemed delegates, student officers, directors, and guests, my name is Hyunseo Ji, a sophomore at Nanjing International School, and it is my utmost honor to serve as the President of the World Health Organization at West Lake MUN XIX. I have been actively participating in MUN conferences for the past three years, and this year’s WLMUN will be my tenth MUN conference.

I will be focusing on the topic of “Addressing the health implications of air pollution exacerbated by climate change.” Climate change is intensifying air pollution, creating conditions that endanger human health. Rising temperatures and altered weather patterns increase harmful pollutants like ozone and fine particles, leading to respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. As these health risks grow, they place additional strain on healthcare systems, requiring urgent action to reduce emissions and protect communities from the worsening impacts of polluted air.

To all my fellow delegates, please read the chair reports thoroughly before the conference, and don’t be afraid to walk up to the podium and share your thoughts! This committee is a safe space where everyone is supportive, and I deeply encourage everyone to trust in their ideas, acknowledging that there is no singular or right approach to finding a solution. Take this opportunity to grow and develop your skills.

Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have regarding the conference at hyunseoji@nanjing-school.com. Looking forward to seeing you all in November!

Deputy-President
Han (Liliana) Qiao

Esteemed delegates, student officers, directors, and guests, welcome to the World Health Organizations committee of West Lake MUN XIX. My name is Han (Liliana) Qiao, I am currently a grade 10 student at Nanjing International School, and it is my honor to serve as your deputy president for West Lake MUN XIX. I have participated in several MUN conferences as delegate, but this is my first time participating as chair. Throughout the days of conferences, you will gain greater understanding of the topics, debate, and global perspectives, also meeting new friends and a diverse range of people. Some advice I would like to give delegates is to not hesitate to hold back from your thoughts and questions before or during the conference. It is okay to be shy, but delegates around you are all students like yourself, and there is nothing to be afraid of when sharing your own ideas. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns via email at hanqiao@nanjing-school.com. Looking forward to the fruitful debate.
