President

Allison Wang

Hello delegates!

My name is Allison, currently a junior at Shanghai American School Puxi (SASPX), and it is my honor to serve as the President of SPECPOL for West Lake MUN XX. Over the course of five years, I have attended over twenty conferences, serving as a student officer at more than ten of them. Starting my MUN journey here at HIS, I am more than excited to return and participate in another iteration of WLMUN.

As the international community continues to confront challenges surrounding the political rights of Adivasi communities in India and equitable access to outer space, greater cooperation is needed to protect marginalized populations, promote political autonomy, and ensure equal opportunities for all states.

Please feel free to reach out anytime if you have any questions. See you in November!

Deputy-President

Mindy Kim

Esteemed delegates, student officers, directors, and guests, welcome to the SPECPOL of West Lake MUN XX. My name is Mindy Kim, and I’m currently a senior at Hangzhou International School. It is an absolute honor to serve as your president for SPECPOL. I’m always passionate about engaging in MUN as a whole, since my personal interest and rich knowledge on geography and history build onto this. I’ve participated in several MUN conferences before, and this is my first time chairing, and I will do my best to make the committee room comfortable and engaging for all the delegates. I hope this WLMUN conference allows everyone to make memories with people and develop themselves by overcoming challenges they faced throughout the process. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns via email at kimm67229@hisdragons.org.cn. I look forward to seeing you all in November!

Deputy-President

Baek Jun Kim

Esteemed delegates, student-officers, distinguished directors, and guests, welcome to the Special Political and Decolonization (SPECPOL) committee at WLMUN XX. My name is Baek Jun Kim, currently a sophomore at Hangzhou International School, and it is an honor to serve as a Chair in SPECPOL. This would be my fifth conference as I have started my MUN journey approximately more than 2 years ago. I have previous experience of chairing, and I believe that I have ability to control the room, and make the debate entertaining and smooth for all delegates. As a chair, I will ensure that every-single delegate is encouraged to speak, and go through a comfortable and enjoyable experience. This includes having a precise and rich conversation going on inside the committee room. I will be responsible for the topic: "The political rights and autonomy of the Adivasi indigenous group in India". My email can be contacted anytime if any delegates have questions regarding this conference. To that end, I am looking forward to this conference, and hoping it is an exciting event for all delegates.
