Martin Song

Esteemed delegates, Student Officers, Directors, and honored guests, Welcome to the United Nations Human Rights Council of West Lake MUN XX. My name is Martin Song, and I am currently a Y12/G11 student at Xi’an Hanova International School. It is my great honor to serve as your President for West Lake MUN XX. As an individual, I have always been passionate about Model United Nations. I have participated in several MUN conferences across China and have gained extensive experience in chairing, which have deepened my understanding of global issues and international relations. I also currently serve as the Secretary-General of HANMUN, where I have gained a wide range of experience in chairing, delegating, and organizing Model United Nations conferences. I hope that West Lake MUN XX will allow you to create countless memories with fellow delegates, chairs, admins, and members of the Secretariat. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns via email at martinsong76@gmail.com or via Wechat: MsonG102938. I look forward to seeing you all in November. Welcome to the Human Rights Council, and I wish you all the best for the conference!

Deputy-President

Zoey Freston

My name is Zoey Freston, and I am currently a freshman at Shanghai American School Puxi. It is my honor to serve as your Deputy President for the United Nations Human Rights Council at West Lake MUN XX. West Lake MUN XX will mark as my 10th conference and my first time chairing. My focus will be on strategies to prevent the violation of human rights in the Myanmar region. This issue has became a pressing global priority, as it has shifted from a localized political conflict into a civil war marked by systematic atrocities, extreme civilian suffering and instability in the region. I encourage delegates to challenge themselves, and to come prepared with unique and creative solutions. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns via email at zoey01px2030@saschina.org. I look forward to seeing you all in November!
