Hi Delegates,
I am Vincent, a senior from Shanghai American School Pudong. This would be my 16th conference and would be my 8th time chairing. My focus will be on the topic of “Addressing the Pakistan-Afghanistan border conflict.” As a conflict rooted from poor determined borders from the colonial era, the spillover effects of post-colonialism borders have been devastating of the current nations. With over hundreds of thousands of civilians displaced, and limited aid due to the current insecurities. The civilians of both nations have suffered the consequences of post-colonial borders. I look forward to the fruitful debate and solutions to address this issue.

Hi everyone, my name is Gina Lin and it is my honor to serve as your Deputy President Chair in the Security Council! As a rising senior at Shanghai American School Pudong, this will be my seventh year participating in MUN and my first and final conference here at HIS. As a previous student of HIS, I am very excited to visit the new campus and facilitate debate in this community. Let’s make this a fruitful, productive, and diplomatic Security Council!

Esteemed delegates, and fellow guests, I am Tanmay Garg. I am currently a senior at Hangzhou International School. I am honored to serve as Chair of the Security Council at this year’s WLMUN. Through MUN, I have developed a passion for international relations and diplomacy. I also really enjoy public speaking and love the feeling of being able to tackle a global issue. I am extremely honored to be able to serve as your chair, and I will try my best to make this conference enriching and enjoyable for all the delegates. Hope that all of us can learn, grow, and improve through fruitful debates, this November. Once again, I’m really excited for the event and hope we all can have a fantastic time at the conference.
